Sweater by dirk van saene. Made in lightweight black wool, has high, rounded neck with contrast edge, ribbing at cuffs and hem. Silhouette of neck tie (necktie?) has been knitted into pattern of sweater using contrasting cream wool fibres. Shown in picture 9 hung on rack in bathroom, reversed version (black tie on white cream base) in picture 10 from a spread in . Said spread also shows possibility of wearing with real (here, bow) tie. Magazine published August 2001, dating sweater to some time prior to that.
